We're not looking for just anyone.
We're looking for the heck yes guest
This experience is for you if:
You say yes before you know where you're going
You're drawn to remote places most people will never see
The words "off the beaten path" feel more like an invitation than a warning
No experience required — just a willing spirit and a good attitude
You don't mind sleeping bunk to bunk
You also appreciate a hot drink waiting at the lodge and a touch of luxury in the wild
Glam and grit? Yes please.
The Hart Range remains exactly as nature intended
And we plan to keep it that way. Camp is set up on arrival and packed out on departure, leaving no trace behind. With only one trip per year, very few people will ever see this place. A communal sleeping space brings the group together, making even the wildest corners of the Rocky Mountains feel grounding and safe. Raw, unfiltered wilderness — beauty at every turn.
“You land 16 km from the nearest trail, days from town, with everything you need in a single pack—and spend the next three nights hiking, laughing, and sleeping under the stars. When it’s time to leave, no one wants to go home.”
Up to 12 guests. Expert hiking and fishing guides. Two and a half days in BC's wildest backcountry. No crowds. No signal. No rush.
Trip Itinerary
-
We gather at the Tumbler Ridge Airport — gear sorted, safety briefed, pilot introduced. Then the rotors start, and within 15–30 minutes you're watching the Hart Range unfold beneath you in a way no road or trail could ever show you. Once we land, we set up our alpine basecamp together, cook dinner, and ease into the stillness. Tonight, the stars do the rest.
-
Mornings here are slow in the best possible way — coffee, a proper breakfast, no alarm clocks. Then we lace up and head out with your guide into the kind of landscape that stops conversations mid-sentence. Glacier-fed lakes. Ridgelines with no trail markers because no trail was ever needed. A picnic lunch somewhere you could stay for hours. Back to camp as the light softens, dinner warming on the fire, and the Star-Gazer tent open to the sky above.
Distance: ~10 KM -
A second full day, a different direction. Your guide knows this place well enough to read the weather, the wildlife patterns, and which ridge will give you the view that stays with you. Expect to cover real ground — not punishing, but genuinely exploratory. Another evening at camp, another dinner, and another night of stars so dense and close they feel like something you could reach up and touch.
Distance: ~10 KM -
One last coffee as the alpenglow finds the ridgeline. We pack down camp together, and by 11:00 AM the helicopter returns to carry us back over the mountains we've come to know. You'll be back at the airport by lunch — changed in a way that's hard to explain, and a little reluctant to return to the ordinary world.
Elevated Simplicity
Life at basecamp
Our alpine basecamp is not a resort — and it's not supposed to be. But it is thoughtfully set up so that comfort never becomes a distraction from the experience. At the centre is our spacious 20-foot canvas Star-Gazer tent, big enough for the whole group and your guide, with room to breathe and proper space to rest.
Your guide will teach you how to help with camp setup. More hands make light work — tent, chairs, and kitchen can be up and running in under an hour.
Meals are carefully considered with the environment and leave-no-trace principles in mind. Expect elevated backcountry food with touches of comfort. Clean water is filtered fresh from the mountain source. The camp perimeter is protected with solar-powered bear fencing, and food is stored away from camp so you can fully relax.
Well-considered over well-appointed. Everything you need, nothing you don't.

What to bring
Hiking gear: sturdy hiking boots, moisture-wicking layers, a waterproof shell, and trekking poles if you use them. Need a gear list or want to rent equipment? We're happy to help — just get in touch.
Your sleeping bag: we provide shelter, bedding setup, and warmth around camp — bring the sleeping bag that's familiar to you. Not sure what weight you'll need for alpine temperatures? Ask us.
Personal care items: biodegradable soap, toothbrush, sunscreen, lip balm — the basics. We ask that all products be eco-friendly to protect the watershed we're camping in, and scent-free.
Your drink of choice: we've got the food covered. If ending the day with a cold beer or a good kombucha under the stars matters to you, bring it along.
What to know, common questions
-
No. You need to enjoy hiking and be comfortable on uneven terrain for several hours at a time. Our guides set the pace and know the terrain — your job is to show up curious and willing to move at a comfortable rhythm.
-
Alpine weather is real, and your safety is always the first consideration. In the event of conditions that affect the helicopter flight, we'll work with you directly to rebook or issue a refund. We'll always be transparent about the situation as early as possible.

Yes — and honestly, this is one of the best ways to do it. The tour accommodates up to four guests and one guide, so a group of four friends or family members can have the entire experience to themselves. Private and custom dates are available upon request.
