Berg Lake Trail
The Berg Lake Trail is one of Canada’s most iconic backpacking routes, winding through some of the most dramatic alpine scenery in the Canadian Rockies.
The trail begins in Mount Robson Provincial Park, following the headwaters of the Fraser River through ancient old-growth cedar forest. Along the way, hikers pass the turquoise waters of Kinney Lake and climb into the spectacular Valley of a Thousand Falls, a steep glacial valley where countless waterfalls spill down from the surrounding peaks and the massive Robson Glacier.
The journey culminates at Berg Lake, where floating icebergs drift across the lake beneath the towering presence of Mount Robson — the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. From camp at the lake, optional day trips explore high alpine viewpoints, including Hargreaves Glacier and the alpine meadows of Mumm Basin, offering sweeping views of glaciers, waterfalls, and rugged mountain terrain.

Camp life will be a routine of hike, set up camp, hike, eat, sleep, repeat. Most camps have food shelters, and all have pit toilets. Tents must fit on tent pads, and tent pads may be shared with other guests. To be able to fit all our guests, booking requires a series of questions before we can add you to our trip.
